BCrèdit loan application period extended until March

The application period for micro companies and the self-employed to request BCrèdit loans for the amount of 12,500 euros has been extended until the end of March. The loans are designed to facilitate access to credit for two collectives which still have cash flow needs as a consequence of the Covid-19 crisis.

Since the loans were launched in October 2020, a total of 839 micro companies and self-employed professionals (between them accounting for around 1,400 jobs) have taken advantage of them, the 10.5 million euros devoted to the scheme providing them with liquidity. Specifically, the finance helped 245 companies in 2020, providing credit worth 3.1 million euros. In 2021, some 594 micro companies received credit worth 7.4 million euros in all.

Micro companies and the self-employed represent 76% of the operations completed. Some 68% of companies benefitting from the funds were in sectors relating to passenger transport, hospitality, tourism, leisure and commerce.

These small loans, which can be applied for through Barcelona Activa, form part of the economic recovery plan by the Economic Response Centre and are promoted in conjunction with the Catalan Finance Institute and Avalis de Catalunya.
