Change of direction of escalators on Montjuïc
The temporary shelter for the homeless at the Victòria Eugènia Pavilion at the Fira de Barcelona is also occupying part of Plaça de les Cascades and not allowing the public access to the escalators which normally ascend from that square to the Palau Nacional. The usual directions of the other escalators along this monumental area on Parc de Montjuïc have been reversed to continue making it easier for pedestrians to go up and down the mountain.
While the escalators on the right remain out of service, you can still access the Palau Nacional from Plaça de les Cascades using the escalators on the left, whose usual descending direction has been reversed. You can also still descend from that part of the mountain, by using the escalators in Passeig de Jean C.N. Forestier (whose usual ascending direction has been reversed), which go down to Carrer de la Guàrdia Urbana.
