The exhibition “For a sustainable food system. Let’s Act!” was one of the initiatives organised as part of the city’s role as the World Sustainable Food Capital 2021 and now concludes its journey around Barcelona at the Mercat del Fort Pienc, in L’Eixample.

Visitors to the exhibition included 2,000 students from city schools involved in the initiative, who carried out project work on sustainable food during the school year. Besides the exhibition, there were also debates, talks and workshops for children in different age groups, with 500 people taking part.

Promoting sustainable food in the metropolitan area too

The exhibition was also designed to raise public awareness on the effects of healthy consumption and the impact that the food system has for the planet, the local economy and the rural world, as well as to open up participation channels through free play-based and experimental activities for schools and audiences of all ages.

Once the exhibition “For a sustainable food system. Let’s Act!” winds up in the city, it will start touring other metropolitan municipalities.
