Travesti from Flamenco Queer is a fascinating fusion of flamenco and transvestism which promises to transport us to a world full of passion and freedom at BAM 2023, inviting us to discover a hidden Barcelona, a Barcelona of queer flamenco.

Travesti has been created to accompany the launch of Flamenco Queer's debut album. With the superstars of Spanish drag, Pakita Spain and Joanne, the vocals of Ana Brenes and Soleá Gollás, and the percussion of Álvaro López, Travesti is an experience built on the musical and dance journey of Rubén Heras and Jero Férec, and creates a bridge between traditional flamenco and the world of drag and transvestism.

Flamenco Queer pays homage to the “hidden” history of flamenco in Barcelona and around the world, and reminds the audience of the different performative expressions and identities that have always existed as part of flamenco culture.

Travesti promises to seduce us with its unbeatable energy. And, what’s more, they’ll be joined by some very special guests, Maruja Limón, who will bring a touch of charm and originality to this unique show.
