Etran de L'Aïr, or “the stars in the region of Aïr”, invite you to enjoy their performance at the 2023 BAM Festival. With more than 25 years of history, Etran de L’Aïr have become one of the indisputable stars on the local wedding circuit in Agadez.  

Beloved for their dynamic repertoire of hypnotic solos and tunes bathed in the sun, Etran de L’Aïr has made guitar music from Agadez a referent with a sound that evokes the desert city and celebrates all the vitality of a wedding in their hometown.

While other Tuareg guitarists draw inspiration from Western rock, Etran de L’Aïr create an emblematic pan-African fusion from their hometown. They have diverse cultural influences, from the blues from northern Mali to Hausa bar bands and Congolese soukous.

Their music is rooted in celebration, with guitar solos that playfully intermingle with precision and controlled power, yet never falling into indulgent excesses.

Etran de L'Aïr is bringing the essence of Agadez to the BAM and will carry you away to the vibrant music from a corner of the world that is still unfamiliar to many people. The celebration is about to begin!
