Joanie Lemercier is one of the key artists working in Europe today that are expanding the possibilities of light as a medium. After exploring languages such as video mapping, live shows and gallery installations, in this new piece he uses an unlikely material to present his elegant and meticulous work: water.

In Constellations, the DHUB lake becomes a gateway for the exploration of the cosmos. The 3D-like visuals enable us to move from the heart of a black hole into deep space, travelling through planets and stars, as we look for the limits of the universe. Constellations is a fascinating journey where the vectorial, monochromatic aesthetics of Lemercier form a dialogue with the electronic soundscapes of producer Paul Jebanasam.

Joanie Lemercier is a French artist primarily focused on projections of light in space and their influence on our perception. He has always had a strong interest in physical structures: geometry, patterns, and minimalist forms. Since 2006 Lemercier has worked with projected light, co-founding the visual label AntiVJ in 2008 with Yannick Jacquet, Romain Tardy and Olivier Ratsi. In 2013, he founded a creative studio to develop installations, gallery pieces and visual experiments.
