The city’s Pride commemorations also involve several of its museums, which will once again reinterpret their spaces and collections through an LGBTI lens.
Museums are not only places for preserving objects from the past. They are also spaces where stories about our history, culture and identity are built and reproduced. Incorporating an LGBTI perspective is more than an act of historical justice: it is a way of enriching and diversifying narratives shown to city residents. An LGBTI perspective in museums repairs historical omissions while opening doors to new ways of thinking, feeling and understanding the world we live in.
The fact that the city is turning its attention to International LGBTI Pride Day is also demonstrated by the fact that several museums in the city are joining the commemoration by reinterpreting their spaces in an LGBTI key.
The cultural facilities that participate are offering activities in their spaces that incorporate a perspective that takes into account sexual, emotional and gender diversity. Under this umbrella we will find exhibitions, performances, guided tours and workshops, among other activities.
Below you can consult all the initiatives that the city's museums are offering these days within the framework of International LGBTI Pride Day.
