The Tàpies Museum was created in 1984 by the artist Antoni Tàpies with a view to promoting the study and knowledge of modern and contemporary art. It employs a plural and interdisciplinary approach, combining the organisation of temporary exhibitions, symposia, conferences and film cycles with the release of different publications that accompany the activities and periodic exhibitions dedicated to Antoni Tàpies.
