The Filmoteca de Catalunya preserves and shares audiovisual heritage and film culture, with special emphasis on Catalan cinema. Its activities include holding screenings and exhibitions, in addition to preserving and restoring films, photographs, music, books, magazines, posters and film documents, as well as museum pieces that are part of the history of cinema.
Its Raval offices, in the heart of Barcelona, have two cinemas with 1,400 screenings a year, two exhibition spaces and a cinema library, boasting the largest collection of books, magazines and visual files in Catalonia. They also host activities organised by educational services, aimed at reaching new audiences.
