Camille Decourtye and Blaï Mateu Trias, co-directors and two of the founders of Baró d’Evel, say: “Our driving challenges are to put ourselves in danger artistically, to seek a total form of art. We thrive for crossroads and encounters while seeking excellence of each discipline. It’s an arduous and daily work, we mix movement, acrobatics, voice, music, matter, but our real singularity is to incorporate the presence of animals in this quest.” That's it. The Franco-Catalan company, created in 2000, gives performances that combine circus, clowning, dance, singing and music but perhaps the most unique element is the participation of animals on stage. Directed by Decourtye and Mateu Trias, Falaise stars eight actors, a horse and several pigeons. It is also worth noting the collaboration of Maria Muñoz and Pep Ramis - Mal Pelo in direction; the staging of Lluc Castells and costuming by Céline Sathal. The company has an agreement with Ministère de la culture et de la communication – Direction Régionale des Affaires Culturelles d’Occitanie / Pyrénées – Méditerranée et la Région Occitanie / Pyrénées – Méditerranée and receives support from the Government of Catalonia and the Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals for projects between 2018 and 2020.
