OMD: electro-pop pioneers live at Razzmatazz

The creators of memorable songs like 'Enola Gay' are landing in Barcelona on their 'The Punishment of Luxury' tour.

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, better known as OMD, are one of the essential bands in the evolution of British electro-pop. The Liverpool-based duet featuring Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphrey first got together at the end of the 1970s and went on to release some important albums, including Architecture & Morality and Dazzle Ships, containing futuristic pop-rock classics like Electricity and Enola Gay. Like other forward-thinking band of their time, such as The Human League and Depeche Mode, their songs still sounds fresh today and the band is very much active and is due to call in at Barcelona’s Razzmatazz concert hall on Wednesday 14 February.

They will be presenting their latest album, 2017’s The Punishment of Luxury, on which they continue their electronic manoeuvres with the same finely honed instinct for combining technology and melody.
