Marala presenta nou disc a El Molino

Marala challenges the classical meaning of life and death

The musical proposal of the artistic trio arrives this 18th of January at El Molino between ancestral sounds and touches of scenic innovation.

An immersive and profound experience. Marala presents her musical proposal on 18 January at the mythical El Molino. This time, Selma Bruna, Clara Fiol and Sandra Monfort explore the meaning of life and death through their latest studio album Jota de morir (2023). A collection of popular and traditional music, but sublimated by contemporary influences, organic and synthetic sounds.

Because Marala goes beyond tradition. Hers is a cultural reinterpretation through music with a strong stylistic fusion that manages to integrate Setmana Santa rhythms with feminist reggaeton. An exploration of the roots that passes through an unimaginable scenography. The combination provokes a total immersion in a fictitious world where time does not exist and is transformed into an idea where death is not an end, but a way of expanding the limits of one's own life.

Jota de morir explores the meaning of existence from a base where culture and folklore have a lot to say. A proposal that starts from the folk dances of the Valencian Country and the typical songs of the Balearic Islands, connecting it with contemporary influences such as Rodrigo Cuevas and Maria Arnal. And all of this compendium is supported by the production of Pau Vallvé and Jordi Casadesús, a fact that foretells a totally engaging live performance with hints of intelligent and radical humour.

A special way of celebrating the beginnings, but also the endings to the rhythm of contemporary tradition. With Marala, fusion and vindication come to conquer you. Are you ready? More information and tickets at El Molino’s website.
