The Mostra Internacional de Films de Dones de Barcelona is celebrating its 30th edition.
The Mostra Internacional de Films de Dones de Barcelona, which started in June 1993, is celebrating its 30th edition this year – three decades of commitment to the dissemination of films with women in front of and behind the cameras. The Mostra continues to defend its objectives, encouraging reflection and debate and rescuing all those pioneers and forerunners of cinema from normative history. For this edition, they propose a programme that will run from March to December 2022. One of the main events this year will be the presentation of the book Un trajecte pels feminismes fílmics. 30 anys de la Mostra Internacional de Films de Dones de Barcelona, written by the co-founders of the Mostra, Marta Selva and Anna Solà, and published by the Barcelona City Council, which will take place on 22 March at the Filmoteca de Catalunya. In addition, they will screen the short films by Carole Roussopoulos, Eugènia Balcells and Cecilia Bartolomé.
One of the new additions to the Mostra is the Laboratori de creació Arxipèlag, a proposal in collaboration with Arts Santa Mònica within the framework of the Arxipèlag project. Between March and June, a working group made up of 10 filmmakers, visual artists, critics, and film students will meet to think collectively about the work of five of the filmmakers honoured in the different editions of the Arxipèleg's call for entries. The results of this laboratory will be presented on 21 June. The programme also includes the virtual exhibition Rutes del desig.
