What is coming up at PRBB?
An open day at this leading biomedical research centre to bring science to people of all ages and backgrounds.
The traditional Open Day at Barcelona Biomedical Research Park is back on Saturday, 5 October, with a day full of offerings for everyone. Researchers and technical and support staff from the six research centres at the park are opening up to the public at the twelfth version of this great event, showing its spaces and the cutting-edge science done there.
The Open Day is an opportunity to discover the laboratories of this iconic building and what is going on in its test tubes and other equipment. The wide variety of activities on offer include a number of different guided tours around the site. If you went on a tour in previous years that is no reason not to go back, as no two tours are the same. Each year, both the itineraries and the stops made to find out about the what the scientists do at their workplace are different. So each year you can learn something new. It is recommendable to register through this link as the places are quickly snapped up! But in any case, if you do not arrive on time, you can always try your luck and try to register when you arrive and hope there is a still place free.
The open doors day is much more than tours. All morning, specialists in the fields of stem cells, oncology, big data applied to health, memory, neurodegenerative diseases and the impact of noise pollution will give talks on their research and discuss it with the public. There are also experiments for families, practical workshops, demonstrations, games and magic tricks. And the volunteers in the Children's Area will accompany boys and girls aged 3 to 8 on a series of guided activities while their parents are attending the talks and visits.
Don't miss out on this annual event about biomedicine and science in general! See more information through this link.
