Joan de Déu Prats, born in Barcelona in 1962, has written over 130 books for children, young adults and adults, translated into several languages. One of his most recent, Guia curiosa de Barcelona [A Curious Guide to Barcelona], has been published in Polish. In addition to gathering hidden stories from the Catalan capital and leading cultural tours of the city, he has become a specialist in the country’s lore. His latest works in this area include El gran llibre de les bruixes catalanes [The Big Book of Catalan Witches] and El gran llibre de l’imaginari fantàstic català [The Big Book of Catalan Fantastic Lore]. He is currently preparing a complete guide to fantastic beings from across the Catalan-speaking world.  He also gives talks and lectures and shares the heritage of both Barcelona and Catalonia through a range of media outlets.
