The Consortium of Trade, Crafts and Fashion of Catalonia (CCAM), of the Department of Enterprise and Labor, has opened the deadline to participate in the National Trade Awards, awarded by the Generalitat de Catalunya.

The aim of these awards is to distinguish individuals, companies, sector entities and public entities that, for his career, innovation and adaptability, contribute significantly to the prestige of trade, particularly urban commerce of proximity. Four categories are established: the National Commerce Award; the Most Innovative Commerce Award; the Collective Initiative Award – to the Territorial Collective Initiative and to the Sectorial Collective Initiative – and the Public Management Award in the field of the commercial sector.

The National Commerce Awards consist of awards and diplomas. In addition, the National Commerce Award has an economic endowment of 7,000 euros, while the prize for the Most Innovative Commerce has an economic endowment of 3,000 euros. 

This year, due to the impossibility of holding last year’s edition corresponding to 2019 because of the pandemic, the 20th and 21st editions have been jointly convened, corresponding in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

To apply for the awards -both in 2019 and 2020-, the application must be submitted telematically, with the documentation provided for in the rules. 

The deadline for submitting applications is 2:00 p.m. on September 17, 2021.

At the same time, the deadline to participate in the Centenary Commercial Establishments Awards -to award the establishments that have made the 100 or 150 years during 2019 or 2020- has also been opened. In this case, the two editions have also been called with the same deadline for submission. 

Municipal markets, micro-enterprises and small retail businesses or providing services to the person , with at least one operating establishment in Catalonia open to the public, with a history of one hundred or more years are eligible. For example, in 2016 Frutas Soley of the Boqueria market was awarded for its 151 years of activity serving people.
