Imma Merino Serrat (Castellfollit de la Roca, 1962) is a Professor of History and Theory of Cinema at the University of Girona and works as a film critic and cultural journalist at El Punt/Avui. She also regularly contributes to the cultural magazine L’Avenç.

She is the author of the book Agnès Varda: espigadora de realidades y de ensueños [Agnès Varda: Gleaner of Realities and Dreams] (Donostia Kultura, 2019), and has co-edited, together with Ariadna Lorenzo, the book Carol: bellesa subversiva del desig [Carol: Subversive Beauty of Desire] (Documenta Universitaria, 2019). She has collaborated in several collective books, including Al otro lado de la ficción. Trece documentalistas españoles contemporáneos [The Other Side of Fiction. Thirteen Contemporary Spanish Documentary Filmmakers] (Chair, 2007) and monographs on Jacques Demy, François Truffaut, Max Ophuls, Jacques Becker and Rainer Werner Fassbinder.
