This building is located on Carrer Nou de la Rambla, one of the most iconic streets in the Raval neighbourhood, but an odd choice of location nonetheless, because much of the bourgeoisie of the time was settling in the Eixample. As such, it stands out as a unique gem and a rara avis among the lower, more humble buildings surrounding it.

Designated a historical and artistic monument by the Spanish government in 1969 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, Palau Güell is a beautiful building that is essential to understanding Gaudí’s work as a whole. It is also part of Raval Cultural, an initiative that seeks to make the neighbourhood’s cultural and artistic heritage accessible to all.
