Barcelona Poesía already has a new date: From the 13th to the 18th of October 2020

A new programme is being created with different styles of poetic performances, following always the necessary sanitary rules.

Barcelona Poesía, the poetry festival that is usually celebrated on the arrival of the month of May, was going to be celebrated from the 13th to the 20th this month. However, due to the current sanitary emergency, it now has a new date: From the 13th to the 18th of October.

The organizers of the festival are presently working on the design of a programme with poetic performances in diverse formats that will, at all moments, respect the sanitary rules in order to guarantee the necessary protection and safety. The details of this programme will be available in the following weeks.

Apart from the performances, during Barcelona Poesía the Premi Jocs Florals 2020 will be awarded. In this occasion, the winner is the the poet Txema Martínez, from Lleida. In the current edition a total of eighty works, will be presented; and the winning work, besides receiving the award, will also be published in the Ossa Menor collection, from Proa Editions.

Barcelona Poesía, launched by Barcelona City Council, has been celebrated for 22 years. The festival highlights the strength of poetry in different locations of the city and delves into its varied styles and records; it commemorates the big poets of the past and uncovers new values, it opts for diversity and it brings this discipline closer to the public with readings, performances, conferences and debates amongst others.
