‘La hija de un ladrón’

'Sense sostre' will be the opening film for the Pantalla Barcelona

The 7th edition of the Pantalla Barcelona is starting on October 19 with a programme that includes 66 screenings across Barcelona's civic centres.

The city's civic centres will take the stage this fall with the new instalment of the Pantalla Barcelona initiative, which is celebrating its 7th edition. Organized by the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB) through the Barcelona Film Commission, it has the collaboration of the Acadèmia del Cinema and the Cicle Gaudí. Running from October 19 to February 23, 2022, the participating civic centres are Can Basté, Pati Llimona, Can Clariana Cultural, Casa Groga, Ateneu Fort Pienc, Zona Nord, Vil·la Florida, La Sedeta, Cotxeres de Sants, La Sagrera “La Barraca”, Josep Maria Trias i Peitx and Auditori Sant Martí.

Are you ready to enjoy the best cinema? This fall's programme includes 12 films with different themes, which will be screened during 66 separate sessions throughout the cycle. The edition will open with Sense sostre (19/10 at CC Pati Llimona) by Pep Garrido and Xesc Cabot, a film that tells the story of a homeless man that embarks on a journey to get rid of the life he's been living – with Enrique Molina, Laia Manzanares and Teresa Vallicrosa heading the cast. La hija de un ladrón (21/10 at CC Trias i Petix) by Belen Funes, about a young woman who is trying to start a family by distancing herself from her ex-convict father, is another one of this October's screenings.

The rest of the films are: Adú by Salvador Calvo, Las niñas by Pilar Palomero, My mexican Bretzel by Núria Giménez Lorang, La dona il·legal by Ramón Térmens, Una mujer fantástica by Sebastián Lelio, El cuarto reino. El reino de los plásticos by Adán Aliaga and Àlex Lora, Niños somos todos by Sergi Cameron, Las Persiedes by Alberto Dexeus and Ànnia Gabarró, L'escriptor d'un país sense llibreries by Marc Serena and El hoyo by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia.

The screenings are free, but you need to book your seats in advance. You can do so through the websites of the different civic centres where the sessions take place. Check the programme here.
