Carme Torras Genís

Carme Torras (Barcelona, 1956) has a PhD in Computer Science and is a research lecturer at the Institut de Robòtica (CSIC-UPC) and a writer. In 2020 she won the National Research Award for her contributions to social robotics and technoethics. Her novels La mutació sentimental (winner of the Pedrolo and Ictineu awards) and Enxarxats (winner of the Ictineu award) and her anthology Estimades màquines deal with the ethical dilemmas raised by artificial intelligence and social robotics. Her works have been translated into English, Spanish, Italian and Chinese. Her short story 'Postintimitat' was recently published in the anthology Barcelona: 2059 (Mai Més Llibres). She is a contributor to the science-fiction noir anthology Vapor negre. Barcelona steampunk 1911 (Clandestina).
