Frances Hardinge, born in Brighton in 1973, is a writer of dark fantasy for children and young adults. Her twelve books have received numerous awards, including the Costa Book of the Year Award, the LA Times Book Award, the Boston Globe/Horn Book Fiction Prize, the Robert Holdstock Award at the British Fantasy Awards, the ‘Best Fiction for Young Readers’ award at the British Science Fiction Awards and the Dracula Society’s ‘Children of the Night’ Award. Island of Whispers and Unraveller are among her works translated into Catalan. Her most recent book is The Forest of a Thousand Eyes.
