Muntsa Mimó, born in Barcelona in 1960, is a professor at the University of Barcelona and a specialist in ethology and primatology. She combines teaching and research with writing fiction and leading nature-based tours in Africa and other destinations – the wilder and more remote, the better. She has published nearly ten books for children and young adults, including the science fiction novel Quatre persones diferents no somien el mateix [Four Different People Don’t Dream the Same] and has contributed to various adult short-story anthologies, such as Extraordinàries [Extraordinary Women], Arcana Sectarium and Narranación 10. Her work has won or been shortlisted for awards such as the Vila d’Ascó Literary Prize, the Ciutat d’Olot Young Adult Novel Prize, the Tinet Short Story Prize and the Ictineu Awards.
