Víctor Martínez-Gil (Barcelona, 1966) is Professor of Catalan Philology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He spent time as a Catalan lecturer in Lisbon and has translated Portuguese authors of fantastic and speculative literature, such as Mário de Sá-Carneiro, José Saramago, Clarice Lispector and Valter Hugo Mãe. In 2004, he published the anthology Els altres mons de la literatura catalana and in 2023 Una Terra, més enllà: Històries catalanes de ciència-ficció durant la guerra freda i el franquisme. He has studied and edited writers such as Salvador Espriu, Pere Calders, Joan Santamaria, Josep Maria Miquel i Vergés, Manuel de Pedrolo, Joan Perucho, Antoni Munné-Jordà and Joan-Lluís Lluís.
