Youssef El Maimouni

Youssef El Maimouni (Ksar el Kebir, 1981) is a writer and social educator and currently combines directing a youth centre with writing. He has a degree in Arabic Philology from the University of Barcelona and a master's in Conflict Resolution from the Open University of Catalonia, and he also contributes to many media and promotes Arabic literature in different spaces around the city. He has published Cuando los montes caminen (Roca editorial, 2021), the first novel on the Spanish Civil War told from the perspective of a Moroccan soldier, and Nadie salva a las rosas (Roca editorial, 2023), the novel that enshrined him as an author who closes the distance between the two sides of the Strait of Gibraltar.
