Exhibition of Giants

Open on September 22 from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on September 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Barcelona has a dozen giant groups, and they all participate in La Mercè. Giants parade, dance or are displayed in all their majesty so we can see the clothing or the diadems, garlands and caps they are wearing up close. And there will be time to admire them in the Pati Manning: from 10 to 23 September, the most formidable festival figures await you, silent and patient, as they summon the strength for the shows, parades and dances the next day, the most important day of the festival.

The giants on display will include the giants of El Guinardó, Joan el Portuguès and Marieta de la Font from the Cuento fountain in that neighbourhood; the giants of Sarrià, Gervasi and Laieta; the giants of Trinitat Nova, Daniel and Teresa; the new giants of Plaça Nova, Roc and Laia; the giants of the Vila de Gràcia, Pau and Llibertat; the giants of Sagrada Família, Pere and Pepa; the half-human, half-pigeon giants of Sant Andreu de Palomar; the old giants of the Casa de la Caritat or of Carnival, Rodanxona and Rodanxó; and the giants of the District of Horta-Guinardó, Perot Rocaguinarda and the Bugadera d’Horta, among others.
