Jordi Martí graduated in Education Sciences and is trained in the field of cultural management.

At present he is the Sixth Deputy Mayor, in charge of the Area of Culture, Education, Science and Community, at Barcelona City Council.

He has worked for Barcelona City Council since the 1990s, holding a wide range of cultural and political posts. Previously he has been culture delegate and director of the Barcelona Institute of Culture (ICUB), as well as deputy director of the Barcelona Centre of Contemporary Culture (CCCB) and director of the promotion and administration department at the Catalan School of Music (ESMUC).

At the same time he has worked as a cultural management trainer and taught on various master’s and postgraduate courses linked to cultural policy and management.
