Journalist specialising in African diasporas and music, and founder of Radio Africa Magazine

A journalist and cultural producer, she founded Radio África Magazine and, in her work, explores migrations, black diasporas, and African music throughout the Black Atlantic. Her multidisciplinary practice introduces alternative accounts of the continent of Africa and the heterogeneity of negritude in the collective imaginary, with the ultimate aim of responding to the unanswered questions and difficulties arising from the social fit of cultures and people of the African diaspora in Spanish and European territory. She has curated the exhibition “Microhistories of the Diaspora: ‘Embodied’ Experiences of Female Dispersion” (La Virreina 2018-2019); the programme of activities of “Making Africa: A Continent of Contemporary Design” (CCCB, 2016); “Africalisme al Pati de les dones” (Africalism in the Courtyard, CCCB, 2016); and the exhibitions of the Espai Avinyó (2011– 2012). She is also co-curator of Blue Black Futures (MACBA, 2022). As director and presenter of Radio Africa on Betevé Radio (2018-), she has presented the programme of in-depth interviews Terrícoles (Betevé 2017-2019) and African Bubblegum Music on Radio Primavera Sound (2019). Moreover, she wrote the scripts for “Diasporas: Stories of Art from Barcelona (MACBA, 2020) and “Expressions of Black Africa in Barcelona” (2009), as well as contributing to the media outlets El Salto DiarioElCriticLa DirectaAfrica is a CountryCtxt, and the magazine La Maleta de Portbou… She also coordinates and participates in debates and conferences at venues including MACBA, CCCB, Born Centre Cultural, Matadero de Madrid, Museo Reina Sofia, the Bamako Photography Biennale, the Thinking Biennale of Barcelona, Tabakalera Donosti, inter alia.
