Let’s make the Barcelona of your life

Barcelona is with you in all stages of life: from birth to growth to personal and professional development and retirement. There are other big cities with opportunities for professional growth or with activities for when you're young, as well as cities to bring up kids in or retire in. Yet few cities bring everything together like Barcelona does.

Because of this, between us let’s help Barcelona continue to be the best city to live in at any stage of life, working on and emphasising the six main pillars that make up our identity:

  • Girl with a Barcelona scarf

    Functional city

Barcelona is with people throughout their lives: from transport connecting neighbourhoods and opportunities to healthcare and education, which care for and train generations, to public spaces conceived for enjoying and sharing and familiar and decisive municipal services that put people at the centre.

  • Woman with a Barcelona tattoo

    Respectful city

Barcelona strives for the enjoyment of public space with respect for others, favouring coexistence between people and diversity. The city’s open, welcoming, tolerant and respectful character is present everywhere and makes for a city that promotes shared values and an atmosphere where everybody can feel safe and respected, at the same time fostering respect for the environment and sustainability as essential pillars.

  • A woman, a man and a girl with a flag of a dog

    Equitable city

Barcelona works to guarantee equal opportunities for all people and neighbourhoods. It does this with social services that protect people’s rights, with employment and housing policies that pave the way and with a solid commitment to offering resources equally and accessibly.

  • Woman with a flag

    Dynamic city

Something is always going on in Barcelona. The city offers a vibrant and diverse agenda, with activities for all tastes and ages: from culture and gastronomy to sport, music and nightlife. With open spaces, accessible festivals and a constant range of options combining tradition and innovation, Barcelona exudes energy.

  • Man with a flag

    Prosperous city

Barcelona drives economic growth and generates wealth sustainably, with progress it wants to share. The city attracts businesses, fostering innovation and creating opportunities, as well as consolidating its key role as a global leader in sectors such as design, technology and science.

  • Man with a flag

    Healthy city

Barcelona understands health as an essential value at any stage of life. It promotes healthy habits with an extensive network of sports facilities, green spaces, parks and gardens and an extensive coastline for physical activity. Barcelona wants to be a place where individual and collective well-being become a shared reality.

Barcelona launches a new identity

Barcelona City Council’s communication is adopting a new visual identity. The logotype that included the city shield followed by the name “Ajuntament de Barcelona” will be replaced by a new signature bearing only the word “Barcelona”, accompanied by the city’s official shield.

This should give more of an emphasis to the city, without losing the institutional component, adapting the image to new digital formats to facilitate its application in all forms of municipal communication, in an exercise of simplification to favour understanding and reduce visual noise.

The new identity has been designed in Barcelona and has its own unique font (Barcelona Display), more accessible and created specifically.
