Girls 96 (pronounced ‘noventa e seis’) is a Portuguese music project by Paloma Moniz and Ricardo Gonçalves. They form a duo devoted to dance-punk and electroclash that plays with the contrast between energetic electronic sounds and lyrics that touch on intimate, personal topics. Their début album was the EP 1996 (2024), in which they used this contrast to portray and reflect the intensity and nostalgia of chaotic night rituals. They are known on the London scene, where they've performed many times, alternating with Portuguese stages, and now they're releasing two singles, Estrela Superstar and Circos, which are the foretaste of an upcoming album.
