Hirameki - destello de inspiración
World music- Colombia
Musician Juan Andrés Ospina has been an on-and-off resident of Barcelona for nearly twenty years. Perhaps you know him as a composer for big band music, as an arranger, a pianist, a vocalist, or even as a comedian and improv artist. Throughout his career, he’s worked with some of the greats, from Bobby McFerrin and Paquito D’Rivera to Karol G. This concert, a participation-based event driven by improvisation and lots of audience input, will bring together Ospina’s friends and musical partners (Rita Payés, Bori Albero, Carlos Monfort, Lucia Fumero, Miguel Pintxo Villar, Sofia Ribeiro, Adriana Ospina, Juan R. Berbín and Marcelo Woloskito create a “pop-up orchestra” in a concert with a Japanese name. Pay attention to the guests because, in addition to several familiar names, the list also includes Marcelo Woloski, Snarky Puppy drummer and winner of multiple Grammys.
The word hirameki in the title describes a moment of sudden inspiration that illuminates the mind and, in painting, refers to the game of transforming inkblots and abstract colours into recognisable objects through certain strokes.
In a similar game-like way, Ospina is bringing together artists and friends who will spontaneously create all kinds of music pieces through fun and friendship. Come find out what will emerge.
