MercèDansa + Galop de la Mercè closing event

The Esbart Català de Dansaires has been organising this event featuring the live dances of Catalonia since it was launched in 1993. During the morning session, a selection of live dances will be presented and the public will be taught how to dance them. In the afternoon, you can take part in the festivities with the Galop de la Mercè. 

Grab a handkerchief, before it's all over, and you’ll find yourself dancing the Galop de la Mercè, in which both the dancers and members of the public take part, the highlight of this event. The City Council commissioned master musician Jesús Ventura to compose the music for the Galop, so that Barcelona's Festa Major would have its own dance, and a lively one at that, like all the people who join in! With musical direction by master musician Joan Gómez.
