Do you know Sonido San Francisco? This is an electronic cúmbia project from San Francisco de Asís, in Xonacatlán, Mexico, hence the name.  Their sound takes folk, tropical and traditional rhythms, mixing them with electronic and contemporary elements. The group have been together for more than fifteen years and have played at notable festivals in Mexico, Japan, Argentina, Colombia, Germany, the USA and Spain. They released their first EP, Independencia sessions, in 2010, and have been based in Barcelona for some years, expanding into Europe and taking their energy and danceable rhythms to new audiences. They have released a single this year, Caminos de cúmbia, which is bound to sound familiar.
