Nascuda a Riga (Letònia) i actualment resident a Espanya, Elīna Garanča és considerada com la millor mezzosoprano del món.

Després dels recents èxits en el seu debut com a Kundry al Parsifal de Wagner a Bayreuth, la seva Princesa d’Eboli a la inauguració de la temporada del Teatro alla Scala o l’Amneris d’Aida a Berlín en la producció de Calixto Bieito, arriba al Liceu per oferir el seu recital en plenitud de forma.

Amb un timbre captivador i bell, sense fissures en els canvis de registre, amb un centre sedós, uns greus ressonants i uns aguts penetrants, la cantant letona s’endinsa en cada rol vivint l’essència de la música. Seduint sempre amb la seva veu i les seves inflexions, passant pels filats, la sensualitat o llanguiment en el fraseig.
