Xerrada 'Torberes de muntanya: el paper dels aiguamolls de muntanya en la conservació de l'aigua i la mitigació del canvi climàtic'

Els aiguamolls de muntanya es caracteritzen per estar inundats de manera permanent o gairebé permanent. Tenen un paper clau en el manteniment i regulació de l’aigua dolça, i en la mitigació de l'escalfament climàtic. En el context ibèric, les torberes estan, a més, relacionades històricament amb la ramaderia extensiva degut a que es converteixen en abeuradors naturals pel bestiar. Malgrat el seu paper clau, són ecosistemes molt sensibles als impactes fruit de l’escalfament climàtic i del pasturatge. A través d’un taller teòric-pràctic, reconeixerem els serveis ecosistèmics que proveeixen les torberes, i explorarem quines son les diverses estratègies de conservació i gestió dutes a terme en projectes d’investigació tant dels Andes colombians com dels Pirineus catalans per protegir i restaurar aquests ecosistemes claus pel benestar tant de la natura com de la humanitat.
