Visit the Pedralbes Monastery: A Gem of Catalan Gothic Architecture

We invite you to visit a unique medieval architectural complex in Barcelona, located in the Pedralbes neighbourhood. Founded in 1327, this monastery was inhabited almost continuously by the Poor Clare nuns (the female branch of the Franciscan order) until 1983.

During this guided tour (in English or Spanish), we’ll explore the monastery’s magnificent cloister and church and discover monastic life through the items and works of art on display at the site.

In addition to its permanent exhibitions, the monastery also hosts temporary exhibitions, such as “Maka Hanna Shingyo”, a 26-metre-long installation featuring the 276 kanji of the sutra, rendered in calligraphy by Maria Eugènia Manrique.

Don’t miss the opportunity to discover one of the most important examples of Catalan Gothic architecture in Catalonia and immerse yourself in Barcelona’s cultural heritage.
