Catalan show
The word άκρη (pronounced ákri) is a Greek word and means margin or edge. It also forms part of the word ακροβασία (acrobatics), which can be translated as walking on the edge or walking along the margin. Ákri is also the title of a solo circus piece featuring one acrobat... and a ladder! The performance explores the idea of the margin. The ladder, serving as both a circus apparatus and a set design, becomes a transitional space between two places. How do we experience the time between two moments? How do we inhabit non-places, like a ladder, that are not meant to be lived in?
This is the first solo show by Manel Rosés, an acrobat trained at Stockholm’s School of Dance and Circus (DOCH). His work is rooted in the body and play, and he explores deeply human questions. He has performed with Les Ofèlies (Desdèmona), Companyia de Circ “eia” (inTarsi) and Cirque du Soleil (Escalada), and developed his own productions.
