from 11am to 1pm and from 1.30pm to 6pm
MercèDansa is a real festival of traditional dancing, which was created for the new La Mercè, formed along with the new democratic city councils. You will see performances of what are known as “living dances”, i.e. those traditional dances that, to some extent or other, are still regularly performed at some point of the Catalan geography. The dances vary every year, but they are always a compendium of choreographic tradition. The festival is in two parts: the first in the morning, and the second more participative part in the afternoon, including what is known as the La Mercè Gallop, a simple dance created specifically so that anyone can join in. The entire festival is accompanied by the music of the Cobla Sabadell, conducted by maestro Joan Gómez.
