A key figure in contemporary flamenco is coming to La Mercè with a show based on the repertoire of the trilogy that recently concluded with Cante a lo gitano (2024). In his latest album, Niño de Elche revisits the work of another Niño, the iconic Niño de Jerez, whose real name was Manuel Torre (1880-1933).

Niño de Elche returns to the origins of the genre to focus on its future in a live show that, as is always the case when he takes the stage, compels us to expect the unexpected.  He achieves the ultimate provocation: an almost “orthodox” recital that culminates in a surprise epilogue in full communion with the city.
