EUmies Awards/LINA/ARCH-E

Architecture competitions in Europe help architects overcome cross-border barriers, especially small practices. However, participation in international competitions remains low. For this reason, European initiatives like ARCH-E aim to make them more accessible by integrating the core principles of the Davos Declaration and Baukultur, as defined by the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE).

On May 16 at 1:00 p.m., Liva Dudareva and Eduardo Cassina will present the findings of their research on the architectures of the EUmies Awards built on islands. Following this, Eva Álvarez and Carlos Gómez, architects and researchers from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, and authors of ARCH-E's reports and publications, will introduce the platform and their conclusions.

In the subsequent discussion, Josep Maria Borrell, director of IMPSÒL, and Eduard Cabré, international advisor to the management of IMHAB, will also participate—two institutions that have played a key role in promoting architectural quality through public competitions.
