Guided tour of the industrialised production prototype designed to improve comfort, liveability and sustainability

This guided visit to the prototype of the Regenerate Barcelona project offers an opportunity to explore an innovative approach to sustainable urban regeneration. The prototype features a self-supporting wooden support system that adapts to existing structures. This modular, easy-to-assemble and maintain system utilizes recyclable and reusable materials, promoting decarbonization and a circular economy.

Key benefits of the prototype include enhanced thermal comfort through passive strategies, a reduced water footprint in sanitation infrastructure, and the promotion of local biodiversity. Additionally, it fosters the creation of high-quality community spaces, improving both urban sustainability and residents' quality of life. Led by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (REARQ - Rehabilitació i Restauració Arquitectònica and GICITED - Grup Interdisciplinari de Ciència i Tecnologia a l'Edificació), in collaboration with Constraula, this project demonstrates how innovation can transform urban spaces into more sustainable and efficient environments.
