A walking tour exploring the architecture of late 19th-century Barcelona, from El Born to Palau Macaya
This guided architectural walking tour takes you through the streets of late 19th-century Barcelona. Beginning in El Born (1876), it moves on to the grounds of the 1888 Universal Exposition in La Ciutadella, continues along Passeig de Sant Joan, and ends up at Palau Macaya (1901). During the tour, participants will have access to buildings open to the public, with a focus on key architectural and technical aspects within the city’s historical and social context. At various points along the route, members of the La Massa CCV recreation section, dressed in period clothing, will recreate conversations and debates typical of the time, reflecting interactions between different social classes.
