Mercat de Pagès

You’ll find 8 markets spread across the city with locally sourced products such as cold cuts, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, or dairy products from different counties of Catalonia, but especially from farmers in the surrounding area and the metropolitan region of Barcelona.
The Mercats de pagès are a 100% short-supply-chain model, where producers, processors, and farmers can sell their own organic products directly to the public, eliminating intermediaries and speculation; bringing the countryside closer to the city and strengthening food sovereignty. They’re also a space for community life, since they’re often surrounded by workshops, activities, and communal meals.
