Cooperating to transform: A Euroregional gathering for rural and maritime development.
From 26 to 28 November, Barcelona will host a gathering of the network of groups, stakeholders and rural and fishing administrations from the Euroregion Pyrenees Mediterranean to debate regional challenges.
Over the course of three days, experiences will be shared, stock will be taken of European policies and regional challenges will be debated as part of the Rural Agenda and theCatalan Maritime Strategy.
This event was organised by the Association of Rural Initiatives of Catalonia (ARCA), the Euroregion Pyrenees Mediterranean and the Government of Catalonia, thanks to the commitment of the eleven Local Action Groups (GALs) and the five Local Fishing Action Groups (GALPs).
Recognition of the Local Action Groups
The Local Action Groups (GALs) and Local Fishing Action Groups (GALPs) in Catalonia, Spain and France will be the main participants in the event. Likewise, the LEADER methodology will be used, an approach that consists of handing the rural development initiative over to local communities organised into GALs and GALPs.
European agrarian and fishing policies will be debated, along with the continuation of European funding beyond 2027, while defending decision-making from the base and attention to detail.
Talks, debates and local visits
The gathering will be held in the Diagonal One building, located in Plaça d’Ernest Lluch i Martín. The programme includes talks by local organisations, networking activities and meals featuring local food.
Local visits will also be held to share rural development and fishing projects like the Viver de Celleristes de la Conca de Barberà, the Escorxador Mòbil de la Catalunya Central and the training project for career guidance professionals for generational succession from the GALP Costa Central.
