On 5 November 2025, the auditorium of Barcelona’s Gastronomic Fòrum presented the launch of the Barcelona Slow Food Guide 2026, promoted by Slow Food Barcelona. The event, hosted by the journalist Carme Gasull, brought together chefs, producers and projects from all over Catalonia and featured the awards ceremony for the Slow Food Barcelona 4th Gastronomic Responsibility Awards.

The publication presents a selection of 100 restaurants, bars, beach bars and ice-cream shops that are committed to proximity, biodiversity and food sustainability, and it is now available at bookshops all over Catalonia and on the website slowfoodguide.barcelona. Its goal is to become an essential tool for people who want to eat well and conscientiously while having a positive impact on the planet.

In 2025, the movement is celebrating 20 years of Slow Food Barcelona and 10 years of the Mercat de la Terra, a space where farmers and city residents share values and projects to transform the food system coherently from the community.

A guide with broader horizons

The new edition has added 11 establishments that boost the diversity and vitality of the city’s food scene: Bar Donzell, Bar Super, Colmado Puntal, Deliri, Direkte, Forno Bomba, Franca, La Gormanda, Mecànic, Pompa and Suru.

The guide focuses on meaningful food, connected to the land and respectful of natural rhythms by consolidating a network of establishments that showcase the work of producers.

30 Slow Food 2025 Snails

The Slow Food Snail is the recognition for venues that place traceability, biodiversity and responsible food at the heart of their operations. In this edition, 30 establishments earned this recognition, including Agreste de Fabio & Roser, Allium, Can Culleres, El Ciri, Lluerna, Rasoterra, Sartoria Panatieri and Xavier Pellicer. They all stand for coherence and commitment to a cuisine that respects the products and the land.

2025 ‘Elective Affinities’: Happy Food

The 2025 ‘Elective Affinities’ honourable mention went to the Happy Food project, a sustainable food truck that has been part of the Slow Food movement from the very start. With seasonal ingredients and direct partnerships with local producers, Happy Food shows how pleasurable food can come with respect for the environment and food coherence.
