Guided tour of a symbol of rationalist architecture building
Guided tour of this iconic rationalist architecture building, constructed in the mid-20th century to represent the image of the Gustavo Gili publishing house, founded in 1902 and known for publishing books on architecture and art. The building is located in an interior block of the Eixample, designed by Ildefons Cerdà. It consists of a set of geometric volumes articulated through ventilation and lighting courtyards, green gardens, and undulating shapes for circulation, with unique elements where functionality predominates. The building, designed by architects Joaquim Gili and Francesc Bassó, members of the R Group, was awarded the FAD Architecture Prize in 1961.
We are pleased to inform you that, as part of our commitment to accessibility, the visits on May 30, June 14, and June 26 will include an audioguide system, allowing everyone to follow the route independently and accessibly.
In addition, to ensure a better experience for deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals who use hearing aids or cochlear implants, we offer —upon request— an individual hearing loop. This transmits sound directly to hearing aids with a “T” (telecoil) setting, eliminating background noise.
Please see the registration form for further details.
