Beasts Parade

Starting from Plaça Comercial.

Route: Plaça Comercial, Comerç, Princesa, Montcada, Sombrerers, Plaça de Santa Maria, Santa Maria, Passeig del Born and Plaça Comercial.

Having been displayed at Born CCM during the days leading up to the annual festival, the beasts from the city’s neighbourhoods can sense that La Mercè has begun and take to the streets in celebration. Dozens of figures in all shapes and sizes stroll in carefree fashion round the Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera neighbourhood . The parade will start and end in Plaça Comercial, where those present are sure to witness some of the most spectacular sights of the evening.

But don’t worry! The beasts will not be breathing fire all the time, mostly they will be dancing to the sound of kettledrums, brass bands and percussion groups. For some years now, this is how the scene has been set for the fire run, where you can see them in full force.

If you are a fan of the beasts, but are terrified by the thought of fire, then this is the parade for you. Although, bear in mind that at some stage, it is likely that the beasts will set off bangers and breathe fire. So make sure to protect yourself properly and enjoy the festival.
