A day by day account of all the popular culture events for the 2020 Santa Eulàlia Festival

The city’s big winter festival is here! And to enjoy it properly, you ought to know what is happening at each moment of the festival, including: giants, beasts, devils, human tower builders, dance groups, stick dances and traditional music. We have put together a timetable of all the festival events, so that you don’t miss out on anything, whether it be those unique, traditional events or some of the newer ones. All in all, there are thirty of them, spread out over four days: 7, 8, 9 and 12 February!

Friday 7 February

  • 10 am: Children’s opening speech. Plaça de Sant Jaume.
  • 8 pm: The Eagle Protocols. Plaça de Sant Jaume.
  • 8:15 pm: NU(e)S. Plaça de Sant Jaume.
  • 8:50 pm: Dances from the Lion, the Giants of Santa Maria del Mar and the Eagle. Santa Maria del Mar.

Saturday 8 February

  • 10 am: A tour around Ciutat Vella’s musical organs. Until 5:30 pm.
  • 10:30 am: Children’s Sardana dancing. Plaça de Sant Jaume.
  • 11 am: Parade of children’s and school giants . Plaça dels Àngels.
  • 11 am: Stick-dancing festival. Avinguda de la Catedral.
  • 12 noon: Exhibition of children and young people’s dance groups. Avinguda de la Catedral.
  • 1:30 pm: Exhibition of stick dancing and other dances. Plaça de Sant Jaume.
  • 5 pm: Santa Eulàlia Dance. Avinguda de la Catedral.
  • 5 pm: Laia’s heartbeats. The Drummers’ Gathering. Plaça Reial.
  • 6 and 6:30 pm. Eulàlia route. Fossar de les Moreres.
  • 6:15 pm: Children’s fire run. Plaça de Sant Jaume.
  • 8:15 pm: Santa Eulàlia fire run. Plaça Reial.
  • 9 pm: Eulàlia. Catedral de Barcelona.
  • 9:20 pm: Fireworks display and DJ. Plaça de Sant Jaume.

Sunday 9 February

  • 8 am: Morning parade by Graller musicians. Baixada de Santa Eulàlia.
  • 10 am: Parade by the Falcons. Plaça Nova
  • 10.20 am: A Falcons exhibition. Plaça de Sant Jaume.
  • 11 am: Human-tower display. Plaça de Sant Jaume.
  • 11 am: Lacemakers’ gathering. Carrer dels Arcs and Portal de l’Àngel
  • 12 noon: Exhibition of children and young people’s dance groups. Avinguda de la Catedral.
  • 11:30 am: Santa Eulàlia Retinue and Giants Gathering in Ciutat Vella. Plaça Reial.
  • 1:15 pm: Dances of Laia, the Eagle and City giants, and St Eulalia’s Dance. Plaça de Sant Jaume.
  • 4:45 pm: Eulàlia. Catedral de Barcelona.
  • 5 pm: Sardana dancing. Avinguda de la Catedral.
  • 5 pm: ‘Fantàstics!’ Parade. Palau de la Virreina
