Clara Peya
Corsé
The multifaceted artist concludes the tour for her latest album with a unique show, a one-of-a-kind ritual that can only be experienced on the Teatre Grec stage.
Clara Peya believes that art is a tool, a way to perhaps change everything. An inquisitive and unclassifiable artist, Peya plays the piano, composes, creates soundtracks, and participates in theatre, circus, and dance performances. This strong-minded and prolific creator embraces music, theatre, dance, and activism equally. We’ve seen her discuss profound topics, but never from a clichéd perspective. The presentation of her latest album, Corsé [Corset], featuring collaborations with artists such as Albert Pla, Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Salvador Sobral, Momi Maiga, and Marina Herlop, marked the start of a tour that will culminate in a final concert at the Barcelona Grec Festival. More than just a concert, it will be a unique performance in which, alongside her musicians, she will be joined by dancers, a choir, and additional special collaborations in a production co-directed with her sibling Ariadna Peya, fifty percent of the company Les Impuxibles.
All of this is meant to spark reflection on the concept of perfection. Have you ever considered how violent and exclusive it is? Clara Peya has, and she explains it through a selection of powerful songs (Sota les dents, Estat salvatge, Cerebralmente...) in which the intensity is in the details. Anyone who’s been to one of her concerts know that they each have their own narrative structure. In this one-of-a-kind event, the vision unfolds through the people on stage; characters who will help illustrate the mental landscapes that make up the artist’s inner world, shaping the entire experience of the album and the personal journey of the tour. And of course, she couldn’t overlook the theatre dimension, after winning awards for the soundtrack of shows such as Aüc (by Les Impuxibles, seen at Grec 2017) and for productions such as Suite TOC num 6 (Les Impuxibles, 2019), as well as the Critics’ Award from Enderrock magazine for her album Estòmac in 2018. Awarded the Government of Catalonia’s National Culture Prize, Peya first performed at the Grec in 2015, presenting her album Mímulus at the Luz de Gas venue.
Co-produced by Les Impuxibles, Allau Management and Grec 2025 Festival de Barcelona.
