El somni de la senyora Macbeth

Ferran Madico

Teatre La Gleva
From June 27 to July 7

With a strong audiovisual component, this transgressive monologue uses Shakespeare’s character to explore the theme of power.

Lady Macbeth is one of Shakespeare’s best-known and most iconic creations, the image of the woman pulling the strings and fuelling her husband’s ambition, ultimately leading to the bloodshed that will forever stain the couple’s hands. Who better than her to bring to the stage concepts such as power and empowerment? This monologue will shake you as it explores the politically correct truths of our society, debunking certain commonly accepted notions. Transgressive and multidisciplinary, it fuses text and choreography with audiovisual elements, a cornerstone of the staging. Pablo Ley, also a director, playwright and professor at the Eòlia School of Dramatic Art, collaborates on the production and script

in this show by Ferran Madico, an actor and stage director from Reus, who was the director of CAER (Reus Centre for Performing Arts) from 2005 to 2009 and later the artistic director of La Seca Espai Brossa. At the Grec Festival, we’ve seen him direct productions such as Love’s Labour’s Lost (1995); David Mamet’s Glengarry Glen Ross (2000); and William Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale (2007).
